Where does one escape amidst the unrelenting onslaught of information, data, texts, emails, social media, conspiracy theories, jam-packed calendars, schedules and an hour hand that seems to spin faster & faster; juxtaposing one’s committed versus discretionary time?
One flight path employs ear-buds/headphones & a direct connection to the ‘Far & Off’ remastered edition (electronic/ambient/idm/downtempo) released by AES DANA & MIKTEK (on Ultimae). Meanderingly creviced with deliberate interstitial aural components and constructs, it pushes glitch, beats, atmosphere & ambient sonance to an internally mindful arena of introspection and personal solace for the listener‘s frazzled world. At once slow, fast, pulsing, minimally techno and downtempo; the album guides one’s mental processes and dialogues towards a rhythmic oasis; away from the demanding, enslaving concerns of the day.
The contrasts between soft/loud, ambient/techno as well as light & dark are sublime. And, given all that, this digitally remastered aural outing between Vincent & Mihalis is quite a accomplishment (and in less than eighty minutes)!
